Ephrem TESSIER et Célina ROY

Antwerp - Ephraim Tessier, 85, native of Clarence Creek, Ont. and former resident of Antwerp, died Tuesday, December 16, 1948, in an Ogdensburg hospital where he had been a patient for the past five months. Before entering the hospital he had made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Eva Williams, at Delevan.
The body was removed to the Lalonde Briggs funeral home. On the following Friday morning the funeral was held at St. Michael's church. The Rev. J. L. Meehan, officiated.
Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery, Antwerp.
Mr. Tessier was born in June 12, 1873, at Clarence Creek, Ont. and spent his early life in that village. He came to the U.S. as a young man and made his home in the Antwerp area where he worked as a farmer and lumberman. He married the former Celena Roy of Montreal. She died in 1932. Mr. Tessier retired about 15 years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Herman and Albert of Syracuse; three daughters, Mrs. James A. (Eva) Williams of Delevan, Mrs. Richard (Emma) Alton of Ogdensburg and Mrs. Michael (Marie) Fencil of Syracuse; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
