Obituary Honoring the Life of Andre R. Tessier
Andre (Andy) Raymond Tessier, 83, of Harrisville and formerly of North Smithfield, passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 3rd, in the comfort of his home surrounded by loving family as was his wish. He was a devoted husband for 62 years to Pauline (Rabidoux) Tessier with whom they maintained an inseparable bond. Together, Andy and Pauline were regarded as a lovely couple who were both kind and generous.
Andy was born on August 6, 1941, and raised by his parents Eddy & Beatrice (Bessette) Tessier in Woonsocket, RI. At 17 years old Andy joined the United States Navy and proudly served his Country with honor as a French interpreter. He worked hard on the assembly line and was very active in the Union to improve working conditions at the General Motors' plant in Framingham for over 25 years.
In addition to spending quality time with his dear wife and family, Andy was a friend to everyone and loved to travel across the country to visit with friends and family. He and Pauline shared their home with anyone who needed a place to stay or a meal to eat. Andy will be fondly missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him; his final words to his loved ones will remain forever etched in our hearts and minds: "Happy Trails to You "
Mourning his passing are his dear wife and sons, Gary Tessier (Carolyn Dooley) of Cumberland, RI, Derek Tessier (Nidhi Kapoor) of Norfolk, MA; daughter, Sharon Tessier (Joshua Crutcher) of Broomfield, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Janet Descoteaux of Manville, RI; cousin, Susan Bruno and her daughter, Amanda; and five cherished grandkids. Andy and Pauline are predeceased by their son, Glen Tessier (Julie Pezze) of Broomfield, Colorado.
Memorial Services & Inurement with full Military Honors will be scheduled for a later date at the RI Veterans' Cemetery in Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations to Operation Smile would be appreciated.
